Loving Others In Christ

This past week has been difficult for many of us. Racism is a reality that I personally know all too well. The death of George Floyd has effected many in various ways. It is during times like these where our faith, our love for the Lord, and our love for our brothers and sisters is truly tested. Will we be salt and light, or will we choose to allow disunity and strife to rule our hearts?

So what I WILL NOT do is love ONLY those that love me. Jesus said that’s easy, even the sinners do that, (Luke 6:32).

What I WILL NOT do is label ALL white people as racist. I have some of the dearest white friends/fam that don’t fit that label. Many have posted in support, are speaking up, are not turning a blind eye, and have reached out to me personally.

I recognize that we “wrestle not against flesh and blood” and that this issue won’t be handled overnight, can’t be handled in our own strength, and at the root is spiritual and carnal. (My believing friends will get this, don’t @me).

What I WILL do is shine a light on the demonic systemic racism that continues to exist and has existed.

What I WILL DO is speak up when injustice occurs because I believe this represents the Father’s heart. Abuse, death, murder (in all forms), mistreatment of any kind isn’t representative of the Kingdom. (I’ll leave that right there too)

What I WILL DO is pray for people (including myself) that are grieving, that are hurting, that are emotional about these atrocities that are happening. I won’t hold my tongue because it makes folks uncomfortable. I will continue to pray that the Lord will continue to EXPOSE the wickedness in hearts, the sin that lies at the door.

Lord search me!

Jer. 17:9 “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” The next verse says that the Lord searches our hearts and knows... we need to repent as a nation for ALOT.

What I WILL DO is continue to promote reconciliation and unity and not division among us all while STILL calling a spade a spade.

We can’t claim to love God and hate our brother.
